What we're all about...
Mainely Primary Care was founded on the belief there is an easier, more affordable way to deliver quality primary care. The times they are a changin' and it's about time primary care does too. By moving to a membership based model and removing insurance from the patient/provider relationship, MPC is able to deliver a more flexible and affordable healthcare experience that will feel easier and more responsive than any healthcare you have experienced before. So much of primary care can be done from the comfort of your own home in coordination with labs, pharmacies and the access we provide. We are striving to provide affordable care to our patients that is easy and sustainable, by fitting into their lives, and thus fostering lasting relationships that result in better outcomes now and over time. We aim for same or next day appointments for acute issues and include all the care provided by our staff in our membership price. It is our priority to have transparent costs you understand, with no hidden fees and no pressure for the provider to satisfy insurance reimbursement. The provider contracts directly with the patient and is motivated solely to provide quality care. Mainely Primary Care is transforming the delivery and expectation of what primary care is in the Pine Tree State.
"The Way Primary Care Should Be"
Meet the Providers
Philip Browne, FNP-C
Family Nurse Practitioner
I am a father, a loving partner and lover of my home state of Maine. I've spent my summers running charter boats on the coast of Southern Maine all my adult life and I dream about snow days in the mountains all year long. I've explored most corners of the state, I grew up in Alfred and have called Kennebunk home for the past 17 years.
I am also a family nurse practitioner.

I was drawn to the profession out of a desire to have a meaningful way to help others but had no misconceptions about the barriers the fee-for-service healthcare system creates at providing the care I wished to provide. Corporate healthcare is incentivized by RVUs (revenue generating units) and the pressure to see as many patients as fast as possible; leading to impersonal, rapid exams with excessive documentation to satisfy insurance reimbursements. The current system makes it so hard to practice good, quality care but it doesn't have to be that way.
I wanted to offer quality care that was easy for the patient, easy to understand, easy to access and I wanted it to be affordable. Direct primary care satisfies all those goals. So now I'm doing it. Please reach out with any questions, I welcome it!
Debbie Pitchforth, FNP-C
Family Nurse Practitioner
Hello! I am Debbie. I was born and raised here in Kennebunk. After living in various places around the country, I moved back to town to raise my family in a place I love. I am married and we have two incredible kids.
I began my career as a 911 dispatcher and then as a registered nurse. I continued my education, earning a Masters in Nursing from the University of Southern Maine in 2018. My first four years as a nurse practitioner were in a family medicine practice, followed by two years in skilled nursing facilities.
I am excited to be part of a practice that supports my passion of putting the patient first and ensuring that high-quality, affordable care is accessible to everyone in our community. I look forward to empowering patients to achieve their best health goals.
